Southeast golfers tie for second place

Southeast Missouri State's golf team turned in an impressive performance Tuesday, tying or second among 15 squads at the Tri-State Classic hosted by Tennessee-Martin.

The Indians finished with a score of 292 to tie with Murray State, one shot behind Lipscomb's 291.

Kent Phillips led Southeast with an even-par 72 that tied him for fourth place. He finished three strokes out of first.

Also for the Indians, Mark Schmitz and Zack Decker tied for 13th (73), Brian Sheehan tied for 22nd (74) and Brandon Couch tied for 58th (77).
