Ken Iman wears some of the most impressive jewelry of any athlete from the region.
Iman, originally from St. Louis, starred at Southeast from 1956-59. He played both center and linebacker for Southeast and earned All-MIAA and honorable mention All-America honors.
Iman then went on to a distinguished, 14-year NFL career.
After leaving Southeast, Iman wasted little time in stepping into a historical setting. He was signed as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers where he played center for four years (1960-63) under a head coach by the name of Vince Lombardi.
The Packers, who last played in an NFL championship game in 1944, were gearing up for their glory years -- three NFL Championships and two Super Bowl titles -- in the '60s.
The Packers played in the NFL Championship games in each of Iman's first three seasons, winning titles in 1961 and 1962.
Green Bay traded Iman to the Los Angeles Rams before the 1964 season. He went on to play 10 seasons for the Rams and was named the team's MVP for the 1972 season.
Upon retiring, Iman spent several years as an assistant coach in the NFL.
Iman is one of a handful of Southeast athletes to have their numbers retired.
