The Redhawks softball team's potent offense was stifled again on Saturday, as Southeast scored just one run in a doubleheader loss at Ohio Valley Conference-leading Tennessee Tech.
Southeast has scored just three runs in its last five OVC games, all losses. The Redhawks fell 1-0 in the opener on Saturday, and 9-1 in the second game.
Tennessee Tech tied its school record with its 44th win this season, and improved to 21-2 in the OVC. Southeast fell to 14-8 in the OVC and 27-17 overall.
The teams will play a single game today at 1 p.m.
Elaine Fisher was the loser in the opener, allowing just one run on six hits with five strikeouts. The Golden Eagles scored their lone run in the fifth.
Lindsay Pickering and Stephanie Huffman hit back-to-back doubles in the second inning for Southeast's lone run in the second game. Huffman was on the mound for the Redhawks and took the loss.
Alonzo Nelson led Southeast Missouri State's track and field contingent at the Drake Relays with a fifth-place finish in the 400 hurdles.
Nelson finished with a time of 52.11 seconds. Justin Gayman of Georgia won in 51.15.
Jason Theodorakos placed 19th in the javelin with a throw of 182 feet, 7 inches.
