The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team picked up its first victory of the season Saturday on the final day of the University of Mississippi Magnolia Invitational in Oxford, Miss.
Southeast, which lost both of its tournament matches Friday to open the campaign, bounced back Saturday to beat Western Carolina 30-21, 30-23, 30-20 but then fell to Arkansas-Little Rock 30-28, 26-30, 30-17, 30-25 later in the day.
Against Western Carolina, senior Brenna Schlader had a match-high 13 kills. She added four blocks and two service aces.
Senior Jessica Koeper had nine kills and five digs, while senior setter Jamie Baumstark recorded a match-best 29 assists and seven kills.
Freshman libero Molly Davis posted 11 digs to go along with three aces, and junior Brittany Hastings recorded a career-high four aces.
Baumstark recorded the fourth triple-double of her career against Arkansas-Little Rock with 34 assists, 17 kills and 15 digs.
Koeper posted her second double-double of the weekend with 19 kills and 18 digs. Schlader added 11 kills and Davis contributed 15 digs.
Southeast returns to action Friday at the Arkansas tournament in Fayetteville, Ark.
