The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team won its seventh straight match Tuesday night, beating visiting Eastern Illinois in five games.

Southeast (15-10, 10-4) pulled out a 30-13, 24-30, 27-30, 30-28, 15-10 victory to remain tied for third place in the 11-team OVC. The Redhawks are just one game out of first place.

Freshman Claire Keaton led the Redhawks with 23 kills, and she added 13 digs.

Karleigh DeLong had 15 kills and 20 digs, while Aubrey Dondlinger had 15 kills and 13 digs.

Sarah Barth was a fourth Redhawks player to record a double-double as she had 54 assists and 11 digs. Molly Davis picked up 30 digs.

Southeast returns to action Friday at Eastern Kentucky and Saturday at second-place Morehead State.

Soccer players honored

Two Southeast soccer players were honored by the OVC Tuesday as Courtney Alexander was named the league co-offensive player of the week and Lindsay Pickering was named the goalkeeper of the week.

Alexander, a sophomore forward, scored all three goals during a 3-2 win over Murray State. She and teammate Ashley Runion are tied for the conference lead in points with 22.

Pickering, a senior, recorded 15 saves in 183-plus scoreless minutes last week as the Redhawks went 1-0-1. The OVC's career leader in shutouts tops the league this season with five.

Southeast (9-2-2, 6-0-1) closes out the regular season with two home matches, Friday against Jacksonville State and Sunday against Samford.
