PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — From record-breaking performances to clutch pitching duels, the Portageville Bulldogs showcased a winning formula all season long. Their dominance didn't go unnoticed, as the MBCA recognized four Bulldogs with All-State honors.
Senior shortstop Mason Adams was the offensive catalyst for Portageville, leading the team in nearly every statistical category. He finished his career with a .404 batting average, 46 hits, six triples, two home runs, and 39 RBIs, earning him first-team honors and the Bootheel Conference Player of the Year award. Adams' dominance extended beyond his senior season, leaving Portageville as the MSHSAA career record holder for triples (20) and third all-time in hits (186).
“I want to be remembered as the guy who always pushed his teammates to be their best,” Adams said. “These guys are more than teammates; they're brothers for life. And to the Portageville community, know that I'll always represent you with pride, and I hope I've shown the younger generation what hard work and dedication can achieve.”
Joining Adams on the first team was senior centerfielder Aaron Dunlap, a consistent threat at the plate and a defensive stalwart in center field. Dunlap finished the season with a .350 average, 28 hits, and 17 RBIs, providing crucial support to the Bulldogs' offensive attack.
Senior pitcher Beau-Hunter Warren, a second-team selection, was a nightmare for opposing hitters. He compiled a perfect 7-0 record over 50.2 innings, striking out 60 batters while maintaining a stellar 2.21 ERA.
Rounding out the Bulldogs' honorees was senior third baseman Conner Johnson, who earned an honorable mention nod. Johnson consistently delivered at the plate, hitting .381 with 40 hits and 25 RBIs.
This senior class of Bulldogs may be turning the page, but their contributions to the program's legacy will echo through the dugout for years to come.
