Perryville and Saxony Lutheran both had the same thought in mind entering Wednesday's seventh-place game of the Show Me Center Holiday Classic.
Each squad was looking to salvage a win after dropping its first two tournament games.
Seventh-seeded Perryville was able to accomplish its goal, downing Saxony -- the eighth and final seed -- 58-37.
The Pirates improved to 3-4 while dropping the Crusaders to 2-3.
Senior forward Natalie Bauwens scored 26 points to lead the way. Bauwens bounced back from a one-point performance the previous day.
"She's averaging almost 19, 20 points and she had a rough game yesterday," Perryville coach Vicki Lohmann said of her top scorer. "She played well today."
Freshman guard Allison Moldenhauer added 10 points for Perryville.
Senior guard Julia Steffens paced Saxony with 14 points.
The Crusaders lost senior point Brooke Valleroy to a knee injury early in the second quarter. They trailed just 16-14 at the time, but Perryville controlled the rest of the contest.
