ST. LOUIS -- The Perryville Lady Pirates fell to Visitation Saturday in a first-round game in the 16-team, double-elimination Visitation Tournament, falling to the host Vivettes 75-53.
Natalie Bohnert scored a team-high 12 points for Perryville, seeded 15th. Jamie Amberger and April Lorenz each added 12 points.
Visitation, the second seed, grabbed a 23-13 lead in the first quarter, but saw Perryville close the gap to 31-26 by halftime. The Vivettes re-established a double-figure lead in the third quarter and took a 51-39 advantage into the final eight minutes.
Perryville will resume tournament action on Tuesday when it faces 10th-seeded De Soto.
Twin Rivers Tournament
BROSELEY, Mo. -- Top-seeded Doniphan handed third-seeded Kelly its first loss of the season Friday night in the championship game of the Twin Rivers Tournament.
Kelly (10-1) trailed throughout the contest to the undefeated Lady Dons.
Doniphan grabbed an 18-10 first-quarter lead and held a commanding 40-23 advantage at halftime. The Lady Dons took a 57-36 lead into the final period.
Marissa Essner scored 14 points for Kelly before fouling out and Bridgett Riley added 13.
Bethany Orendorff scored a game-high 22 points for Doniphan.
St. Vincent JV tourney
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Scott City used a balanced scoring attack Friday to defeat Kelly 36-26 in the championship game of the St. Vincent JV Tournament.
Shana Wadlington, Amanda Rains and Kristin Schaefer each scored nine points for Scott City.
