Notre Dame goalie Nathan Kolda recorded a school-record 17th shutout of the season, as the Bulldogs eased by Lutheran South 2-0 in the semifinals of the Class 2 District 1 soccer tournament at Notre Dame on Tuesday.

"I'm sure Nathan would be the first to give a lot of credit to the defense in front of him," Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn said.

Notre Dame improved to 17-3-3 and will play second-seeded Sikeston in the finals at 5 p.m. Thursday.

The top-seeded Bulldogs scored twice in a span of 20 seconds with about 13 minutes left in the first half. Abe Dirnberger scored on an assist from Jacob Wengert to open the scoring, then Brett Heischmidt scored from Frankie Ellis just 20 seconds later.

"I don't know if I was over being excited when the second one went in," Wittenborn said.

Sikeston defeated Fredericktown 1-0 in the other semifinal.
