Meridith Medlin had a goal and an assist to lead Notre Dame's girls soccer team to a 2-0 shutout of visiting Perryville on Monday in a showdown of district opponents.

Mindy Siebert added a goal for the Bulldogs (10-4-1), and Destiny Dirnberger had an assist. Claudia Brauss made 10 saves in goal for Notre Dame.

Perryville fell to 11-6-1 with the loss. Chastity Marr made 10 saves for the Pirates.

Notre Dame will host St. Vincent tonight in another district matchup.

"We're getting ready to do district seeds so this will help us work toward getting a higher seed," Notre Dame coach Jeff Worley said.

GIRLS SWIMMING Notre Dame 100, Oakville 83

Brittany Menz was part of four first-place finishes to lead Notre Dame past Oakville on the road.

Menz won the 50-yard freestyle event (26.02 seconds) and the 500 free (5:39.77). She also was part of the winning 200 medley and 400 free relay squads.

Oran scored nine runs on 18 hits and 10 Saxony errors and picked up a road victory over the Crusaders.

Losing pitcher Nicole McLard went 4-for-4 for Saxony, while Leah Gerecke and Kara Versemann had three hits apiece.

* Central's junior high boys track and field squad finished fourth out of four schools at the SEMO Conference meet in Poplar Bluff. Jared Ritter won the 1,600 in 5:09, and Chris Swader jumped 11-0 to win the pole vault for Central.
