ST. LOUIS -- No. 22 Missouri has ruled out tailback Russell Hansbrough for this week against Connecticut with a right ankle injury.
Hansbrough was injured in the opener against Southeast Missouri State. He started Saturday against Arkansas State but was limited to five carries for 15 yards.
Coach Gary Pinkel said Hansbrough was the team's only injury concern.
Sophomore Ish Witter had 11 carries for 44 yards in the 27-20 victory over Arkansas State, but 27 yards came on one carry.
With the backfield limited, quarterback Maty Mauk became the primary rushing option and had 10 carries for 75 yards.
Hansbrough rushed for 1,084 yards with 10 touchdowns last year.
