The Ste. Genevieve Dragons defeated the Scott City Rams 12-6 on Monday in the Class 2 District 2 tournament at Woodland High School.
The offense of the Rams was led by junior Mackenzie Lawless who went 3-4 with a run scored, Lawless also pitched the whole game and finished with two strikeouts, three walks and five earned runs.
Scott City was held scoreless until the sixth inning where they scored all five runs. The first two came from sophomore Gracie Conklin single scored senior Avarie O’Brien and sophomore Gabriela Streiler. The next two came from a junior Harley Glueck single scored Lawless and Streiler. The final run came from a sophomore Summer Wagner single that scored Glueck.
Scott City’s season comes to an end at 16-9.
