The SEMO Magic 16-and-under fast-pitch softball team was eliminated from the NSA World Series on Thursday with a 7-6 loss to South Bend, Ind., in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Magic finished the tournament with a 3-3 record, going 1-1 in pool play and 2-2 in the bracket portion.
Miranda Schlosser took the loss in the final game.
The Magic banged out 16 hits, including three by Kristian Burger, who had a home run. Courtney Ostendorf also had a home run and finished with two hits. Bailey Reutzel, Schlosser and Caitlin Scheeter also had two hits apiece.
Earlier in the day the Magic remained alive with a 4-1 victory over the Hillsboro (Mo.) Crush. It was the second straight elimination game won by the Magic after a 6-5 loss to the Toledo (Ohio) Wizards.
The Magic had bounced back from the loss to the Wizards with a 9-0 thrashing of the St. Louis Pride.
