To the editor:
I traveled to Warrensburg with my three children and husband to watch the state volleyball tournament. My husband, the athletic director at Notre Dame Regional High School, had to stay for the last game the team was going to play. Since it was late, I decided to return to the hotel.
At the hotel, I was having trouble getting all of our belongings and my three small children inside when the Bell City team bus pulled up. As the team was going into the hotel, two girls came up and asked if I needed help getting inside. Not only did they help push the luggage cart inside but they took me all the way to my room.
I can't tell you how much I appreciated this simple act of kindness. In today's society, we often hear of all the bad stuff teenagers are doing and very little of the good. These two girls reminded me that there are parents, coaches and teachers who make a difference in the life of a child by being a good role model and teaching how to help your fellow neighbor.
Thank you girls, and congratulations on your win in the state tournament. It was a well-deserved victory.JANA SCOTT
