Jackson replaced Sikeston as SEMO North Conference champions in convincing fashion Friday night with a 49-0 victory at home.
Junior quarterback Dante Vandeven ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more as the Indians claimed their first conference crown since 2007. Jackson improved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference in handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.
Vandeven had scoring runs of 8 and 2 yards in the first quarter, then added a 1-yard dive with less than a second left in the half. Senior Garrett Miller also had a 70-yard punt return for a TD in the second quarter, which ended with Jackson leading 28-0.
Vandeven had scoring passes of 55 yards to senior BJ Heuer and 11 yards to Ty Crowden in the third quarter. Miller capped the night with a 55-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
Jackson which had 406 yards total offense, held Sikeston (5-1, 2-1) to 152 yards overall.
