~ Jackson will try to end its skid Tuesday night at Central.

A poor first half doomed the Jackson boys basketball team Friday, as the Indians fell to visiting Farmington 55-45.

The Indians (16-6) fell to 0-2 against district opponents in nontournament play. Jackson had previously beaten Farmington in the season-opening Farmington Invitational.

This was the second straight loss for Jackson.

Next for the Indians is rival Central on the road Tuesday.

Jackson fell behind 13-7 after one quarter and scored just four points to go down 22-11 at the half.

"We didn't shoot it well," Jackson coach Darrin Scott said. "They packed it in a 2-3 zone. We had trouble with that."

In the third quarter, Jackson bounced back with 23 points and led 34-33 heading into the fourth.

"That first half, we didn't play very well," Scott said. "The third quarter, we did some good things. Down the stretch we just couldn't make the plays we needed to."
