Brent Overbey nailed a game-high 25 points -- 15 of which came from behind the arc -- to lead the second-seeded Zalma Bulldogs in a vengeful victory over the fourth-seeded Marquand-Zion Tigers to a 75-62 win for third place in the Mississippi Valley Conference boys basketball tournament on Friday at Greenville High School.

The Bulldogs led by nine points at halftime and outscored the Tigers by four points at the end of the game to come away with the victory.

D.J. Hankins nailed 21 points, including four 3-pointers, and Cole Shelby netted 15 points for Zalma (9-10). The Bulldogs dropped a regular-season conference match to the Tigers a week ago.

Evan Hovis scored 21 points and Cody Weekley tossed in 10 points to pace Marquand-Zion (12-10).

Zalma's junior varsity squad, which was seeded first, fell to third-seeded host Greenville 56-48 for the junior varsity championship.

Top-seeded host Greenville defeated third-seeded Meadow Heights 87-77 for the championship. The Bears improved to 13-5 with the win while the Panthers dropped to 14-7.
