High school roundup: Trio leads Scott City girls to victory

Ashley Brant, Katie Hogan and Stephanie Essner all turned in double-doubles as the Scott City girls basketball team defeated Sikeston 64-56 on the road Thursday night.

Brant scored a team-high 16 points and had 11 rebounds for Scott City (14-3); Hogan matched her 14 points with 14 rebounds; and Essner finished with 15 points and dished out 10 assists.

The Rams outscored Sikeston 18-8 in the second quarter.

Asia Liggins led Sikeston with 21 points.
