High school roundup: Perryville girls basketball team falls in semis at North County tourney

The Perryville girls basketball team's bid to reach the North County Holiday tournament title game hit a snag Tuesday.

The Pirates got 21 points and six rebounds from Natalie Gremaud, but West County prevailed 65-51.

Perryville (4-6) will play Jefferson for third place at 2:30 p.m. today.

Courtney Borden grabbed 10 rebounds and Allison Moldenhauer recorded seven assists in the loss.

Logan Sprandel hit for 20 points, including three 3-pointers, but Saxony Lutheran fell into the fifth-place bracket at the Bloomfield tournament.

Gabe Bohnert and Nick Johnson both added nine points for the Crusaders (4-5), who will play Bernie at 4:30 p.m. today.
