Colten Weber allowed one hit in six innings of work, leading the Jackson baseball team to a 9-0 victory over host Portageville on Saturday.

Weber had 10 strikeouts and three walks to pick up the shutout win on the mound while Drew Brown pitched a scoreless seventh with three strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Gavon Turner and Ryan Mize each had a home run for Jackson (16-12) while Will Winingar added a double. Mize finished 2-for-4 at the plate, and Skylar Pease finished 2-for-3.

Tyler Daugherty was tagged with the pitching loss for Portageville. He threw one inning and gave up five runs (one earned) on five hits.

Jarrett Newell finished 3-for-4 at the plate in the Indians' victory over the Wildcats in Portageville, Missouri.

Jackson (17-12) combined for 11 hits in the game, as Tristan Thele and Brayden Emmons each added two.

Braeden Dobbs threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up the pitching win for the Indians. He didn't allow a hit and had six strikeouts and four walks.

Tyler Battle took the loss on the mound for Cooter. He pitched 5 2/3 innings and gave up five runs (all earned) on 10 hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

The Bombers scored four runs in the fifth inning to secure the win over the Hawks at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Ty Householder threw 4 2/3 innings and was tagged with the loss on the mound for Kelly (10-12). He gave up five runs (one earned) on seven hits, struck out two and walked one.

Householder also had a pair of hits to lead the Hawks at the plate.

Michael Browning went two innings in relief to pick up the pitching win for John Burroughs. He allowed one earned run and scattered two hits with one strikeout and no walks.

Joe Darlin picked up the pitching win for Poplar Bluff (25-4-1). He allowed three runs (all earned) on seven hits with one strikeout and five walks in five innings of work.

Matt Lambert and Misner each had two hits to lead the Mules at the plate. Trevor Fredwell and Lambert each had a double while Tyson Cox contributed a triple.

Braden Cox went six innings and was tagged with the loss on the mound for Scott City (16-7). He gave up six runs (four earned) on nine hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Trent Pobst and Cox each had a double for the Rams while Dylan Keller finished 2-for-3.

The Bulldogs gave up seven runs in the fourth inning in the home loss to the Spartans.

Tyler Essner took the loss on the mound for Notre Dame (15-11), allowing nine runs (all earned) on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings of work. He struck out three and walked two.

Ross Essner had three hits to lead the Bulldogs at the plate while Sam Dirnberger added a single and a double.

Nick Logusch went 5 2/3 innings to pick up the pitching win for DeSmet (13-13). He gave up seven hits and four runs (two earned) with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Kevin Sidney and Adam Gunter each finished with three hits to pace the Spartans' offense.

Eagle Ridge girls win state title

The Eagles girls team finished with 30 points to take first overall at the Missouri Christian Schools Athletic Association state meet while the boys squad placed fourth with 28 points.

Jessie Gartman took third in the 200-meter run with a time of 29.50 seconds while the Eagle Ridge girls 400-meter relay team finished second in 1:00.18.

Anand Patel paced the boys team with a second-place finish in two events -- the 800 (2:12.40) and the high jump (5-2).

Notre Dame finishes 2-1 at quad tourney

The Bulldogs defeated Chaminade 25-21, 25-21, lost to Webster Groves 17-25, 25-18, 6-15 and knocked off Alton 25-14, 25-15 in the Webster Groves Quad Tournament in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Blake Dunlap led the way for Notre Dame (12-12) with 15 kills, 17 assists and four aces in the three games combined. Hunter Tucker added 15 kills and five aces, Sam Dohogne contributed 15 kills and Evan Landewee finished with 11 kills and 36 assists.
