All the local high school events reported Thursday to the Southeast Missourian.

Chaffee scored six runs with two out in the top of the seventh inning Thursday to defeat Risco 8-2 in Chaffee.

Cody Payne delivered the game-winning hit for the Red Devils, who were the visiting team on their home field.

Payne also was the beneficiary on the mound, pitching all seven innings to improve to 3-0. He struck out 12, walked one and yielded eight hits.

Payne, Daniel Dooley and Layton Tenkhoff all had two hits for the Red Devils, who had 11 hits overall and improved to 10-1. Dooley and Alex Davie both had two RBIs.

Oran took advantage of nine walks in a home victory.

Blake Carlyle and Adam Schaefer both had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles, who improved to 7-1. Carlyle had a double, while Alex Heuring also had two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Seth Ressel allowed four hits in going all seven innings. He struck out three and walked one.

Oak Ridge scored eight runs in the first inning on its way to a five-inning win at home.

Winning pitcher Kelby Brown had two his for the Blue Jays (3-4).

Brown struck out six over three innings, yielding one hit and one walk.

Kyle Rohde had a double for Oak Ridge, while Lance Rohde had three RBIs and Hunter Seyer had two.

C.J. McAlister yielded three hits and four walks over 3 1/3 innings for the win. Johnson allowed two hits over the final 3 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two.

Central notched its second win of the season by slipping past the visitors from Illinois.

Alyssa Gutwein scored on a penalty kick with about 13 minutes left in the second half to break a 1-1 tie.

Brooke Evans scored in the first half for the Tigers (2-5). Maria Popp got the assist.
