Former Southeast Missouri State outfielder Cole Bieser will follow in his dad and Southeast baseball coach Steve Bieser's footsteps and play professional baseball.

Cole Bieser signed a contract with the Gateway Grizzlies, an independent team in the Frontier League located in Sauget, Illinois.

He was part of the 2014 Ohio Valley Conference championship team and started all 57 games in center field his senior season while batting .271 with eight doubles and three triples and stealing 14 bases.

His 37 career stolen bases is tied for seventh in school history.

He reached base in each of the last 25 games of the season and was selected to the OVC All-Tournament team after batting .417 during the conference tournament.
