FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Jackson led by as many as seven points but made some mistakes down the stretch as the Farmington Knights rallied then hit a six-foot jump shot at the buzzer to claim a 68-66 victory over the Indians in high school boys basketball action.
"We're getting better," said Jackson coach Mike Kiehne, obviously frustrated by some recent close losses. "In the Charleston game and tonight we played better, but we just need a win to get us over the hump."
Brad Hilbert led Jackson with 20 points, followed by Lance Bollinger with 13 and Nathan Brown with 12.
Ronnie Lashley led Farmington with 18 points.
Jackson (9-12) trailed 39-36 at halftime, but outscored the Knights 18-13 in the third quarter to take a 54-52 lead into the final eight minutes of play.
Notre Dame 67, Woodland 39
MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Notre Dame used its size to wear down Woodland (9-9), outscoring the Cardinals 33-14 in the second half.
"They just wore us down with their size," said Woodland coach Jennings Wilkinson. "We played well in the first half and we played hard. Notre Dame has good size and good athletes. We got sloppy from the mid-point in third quarter on."
"We played pretty well," Notre Dame coach Darrin Scott said. "We came out and played solid defense and didn't let them penetrate. We played more of an up-and-down game and that helped us. In our last couple of games we didn't have as many possessions and it was a slower pace and we didn't play as well."
Jonathan Ressel led Notre Dame with 22 points, followed by Mark Rubel and Doug Schaefer with 10 apiece.
Chris Masters and Luke Johnson scored 11 each to lead Woodland.
