BOYS BASKETBALL Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament

It was a night of upsets at the Mississippi Valley Conference tournament in Zalma, as the top two seeds fell in the semifinals.

Marquand (6-11) started the night with a 101-95 victory over No. 1 Meadow Heights in a regulation shootout. Fifth-seeded Marquand was led by Josh King's 46 points.

Anthony Bollinger and Terry Wagner led Meadow Heights (11-6) with 26 points apiece. Michael Collier added 18 points, Joel Hahs scored 12, and Heath Fulton added 11.

In the nightcap, No. 2 Saxony Lutheran (12-4) fell to No. 3 Oak Ridge 62-57.

Austin Hahs led Oak Ridge (8-10) with 23 points, Austin Morrison had 13, Johnny Price scored 11, and Lance Felter had 10.

The Bluejays have won six games in a row and seven of their last eight.

Casey Petzoldt led Saxony Lutheran with 28 pionts.
