To the editor:

I apologize to keep expressing my views toward the Central High School baseball team. However, I would like to respond to a recent letter from a Cape Girardeau resident stating that columnist Marty Mishow did not know what he was writing about regarding Central coach Steve Williams.

First, I would like to express the deep gratitude I have for Mr. Williams for what he had done for me while I was at Central. When I arrived in Cape Girardeau in 1994, I was a troubled young teenager. He, along with some other individuals, encouraged me in a positive way.

Due to the positive atmosphere that I experienced, I was able to develop enough confidence to compete at the college level. This was something that I never even thought about just a few years before. For this I am forever grateful.

I sincerely hope some of the residents of Cape Girardeau who are against Mr. Williams rethink their motives for his removal. I hope that you do what is best for Central and stop the negative talk about Mr. Williams, and just let him go back to doing the job that made Central baseball what it is today.
