PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Saxony Lutheran's boys basketball team improved to 7-0 with a 65-45 win over Christ Our Savior Lutheran on Saturday at St. Vincent High School.
The game, which was scheduled to be played at Christ Our Savior in Evansville, Ill., was moved to St. Vincent due to problems with Christ Our Savior's facilities.
The Crusaders jumped out to a 31-12 halftime lead and cruised from there. Casey Petzoldt led Saxony Lutheran with 26 points and Lauren Lueders added 11.

Midwest Sports Christmas Classic
New Salem Baptist's boys finished second and the girls placed third at the Midwest Sports Christmas Classic hosted by New Salem Baptist.
The tournament, which ended on Saturday, featured five boys teams and five girls teams. In the boys bracket, Heartland High School defeated New Salem in the finals 68-58.
Boone Gaines led New Salem with 23 points in the championship game. Gaines scored 46 points on the day, adding another 23 against Southern Missouri in New Salem's 67-65 semifinal win. Jon Davault added 43 points on the day. Davault and Gaines made the all-tournament team.
In the girls bracket, Life Christian defeated Heartland in the finals. New Salem finished third after losing to Heartland 61-31 in the semifinals. Holly Jordan led New Salem with 19 points in the loss to Heartland and scored 19 against Southern Missouri earlier Saturday. Sarah Green scored 12 against Heartland and added 24 against Southern Missouri. Green and Jordan made the all-tournament team.
