KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have released veteran safety Sammy Knight and offensive lineman Kyle Turley, moves that were not unexpected as the team seeks to get younger.
Knight, 31, started every game after being signed as a free agent two years ago.
Turley, formerly with the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Rams, had no luck last season in attempting a comeback after a two-year absence brought on by back surgery. The back gave the former Pro Bowler trouble in the last half of the season and he started only seven games.
