MORLEY, Mo. -- Top-seeded Charleston used balanced scoring as it advanced to the championship of the Scott-Mississippi Tournament with a 55-45 victory over No. 4 Scott City Thursday night.

Charleston will face No. 2 Kelly (10-2) in Saturday's 2:30 p.m. championship . Kelly defeated No. 3 Delta 53-42 in the other semifinal.

Scott City (5-6) had one double-figure scorer as Loren Groves scored 23 points. Dreele Mathis, Tyshanta Williams and Arquilla Ward each had 12 points while Missy Whitney had 10 for Charleston.

In Kelly's victory, Bridgett Riley scored 13 points and Dana Essner tallied 10. For Delta (8-5), Rebecca Cook had16 points and Sarah Cook scored 13.

CAPE CENTRAL 103, EGYPTIAN 21

EGYPTIAN, Ill. -- Three Cape Central players scored season-high totals as Cape Central (9-4) rolled.

Sarah Hyslop paced the attack with 31 points, followed by Alex Wieser, who had 26, and Anna Brisso, 15 -- all season highs. Megan McDonald added 12 points.

NOTRE DAME 77, SIKESTON 29

Notre Dame (11-1, 2-0) battered Sikeston in SEMO Conference action, behind 20 points each from the Millham sisters, Ashley and Lisa. Deana McCormick added 18 for Notre Dame.

PERRYVILLE 62, HILLSBORO 34

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Senior point guard Amanda Nuyt sank four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 20 points for Perryville. Amber Crites and Cathy Morrison each added 10 points for Perryville (8-7, 2-0).

Boys basketball

PERRYVILLE 60, STE. GENEVIEVE 54

CHESTER, Ill. -- Perryville improved to 3-0 in the round-robin Chester Invitational and will play Red Bud Saturday for the championship. Tim Winningham and Andrew Meyr scored 16 points apiece to lead Perryville (10-3) and Chad Ozark added 11.

GREENVILLE 77, CHAFFEE 61

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Greenville scored 49 first-half points en route to a victory. Andrew Horrell netted 21 for Chaffee (2-8), Chase Eskew scored 12 and Brent Thomason added 10.

BELL CITY 113, ZALMA 58

BELL CITY, Mo. -- Eric Henry topped Bell City (12-3)with 23 points, all in the first half, and Kenyon Wright added 21. Dominitrix Johnson chipped in with 16, Jason Rampley, 14, and C.J. Hadley, 12. Tim Lemons led Zalma with 13 points.

Freshman tournament

New Madrid routed Cape Central 62-33 in the championship of a freshman tournament at Cape Central High School. Central fell to 10-2. Jackson defeated Notre Dame 53-36 in the third-place game.

Eighth-grade tournament

Jackson captured the tournament title with a 41-35 win over Poplar Bluff, while Sikeston defeated Cape Central 40-20 for third place.

Wrestling

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Jackson's varsity soundly defeated Poplar Bluff 61-12 and Dexter 76-6 in the Poplar Bluff Quadrangular meet, which also included Cape Central.

Cape Central (16) picked up its first dual victory of the season with a 41-32 win over Dexter. Poplar Bluff then handed a 39-33 loss to the Tigers.

The Jackson JV team reached a milestone with its 100th win in a row as they trounced Poplar Bluff 62-12 and added No. 101 with a 70-0 shutout of Dexter.
