a 16-11 victory.

It was anything but a masterpiece, but the Plaza Tire Capahas continued their undefeated season Friday night.

Despite committing a season-high -- by far -- seven errors, the Capahas banged out 17 hits and held off the St. Louis Printers 16-11 in a wild contest at Capaha Field.

The Capahas improved to 7-0, but it was their second straight tough game, after they slipped past the Tradewater (Ky.) Pirates 4-2 Wednesday night.

Plaza Tire appeared on its way to a lopsided victory as the Capahas led 8-1 after five innings behind pitcher Matt Stroup.

But the Printers (2-4) reached reliever Lanson Debrock for seven runs (six earned) during a seven-run sixth inning, as Debrock recorded just one out while allowing five hits. He also walked one and hit a batter.

The Capahas, however, came right back in the bottom of the sixth to snap the 8-8 tie by scoring three times. Bryan Kurt and Bryan Ingram both walked, then Levi Olson plated them with a double to put Plaza Tire ahead for good.

Plaza Tire scored four more runs in the seventh to go ahead 15-8 and they held on for the triumph.

Tom Bolen had four of the Capahas' 17 hits, and he drove in two runs. Olson doubled, tripled and had three RBIs. He added three walks to reach base in all five plate appearances.

Ingram, Robby Moore, Seth Hudson and Bryan Austin also matched Olson with two hits apiece. Kurt and Josh Ford each added two RBIs.

John Bridges had three hits, including two doubles, to lead the Printers, who finished with 16 hits.

Dusty Renfrow was the winning pitcher as he worked the final 3 2/3 innings, allowing three unearned runs and four hits. He struck out four and walked one.

Stroup gave up just one run on seven hits in five innings, with six strikeouts and one walk.

The Capahas will be back in action at home today when they face their Cape Girardeau rivals, the Riverdogs, in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.

Plaza Tire owns a 16-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Riverdogs, including a pair of 10-0, run-rule victories this year.
