The Cape Girardeau American Legion junior team split its two games Sunday at the Eureka Mid Summer Bash to finish sixth out of 16 squads.
Cape (20-13) first routed Timberland 19-0 in five innings as Jamie Pickel pitched a one-hitter.
Pickel, Jacob Conklin, Eric Hayes, Andrew Williams and Sam Schneider all had two hits. Williams and Schneider both drove in three runs.
Cape then fell to Columbia Rock Bridge 7-6 in the fifth-place game. Brandon Peters suffered the loss. Jimmy Obermark had three hits, while Conklin and Josh Hiett each added two hits.
