The Plaza Tire Capahas continued their recent hot play Wednesday night, as they routed the host St. Louis Printers 15-1.
Plaza Tire improved to 25-7 with its seventh consecutive victory.
Matt Stroup was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out seven over seven innings.
Chad Bogenpohl worked a perfect eighth inning, while Josh Parham allowed three hits and a run in the ninth.
"Stroup was really pitching great, but I wanted to give some other guys some work," Capahas manager Jess Bolen said.
The Capahas banged out 14 hits, led by Lance Seasor and Josh Eftink with three apiece. Seasor doubled twice and drove in three runs while Eftink also doubled twice and added two RBIs. Eric Horstman had two hits and three RBIs, Tom Bolen added two hits and Seth Hudson delivered two RBIs.
Plaza Tire led just 2-0 after five innings but then pulled away. The Capahas scored two runs in the sixth, three in the seventh, seven in the eighth and one in the ninth.
The Capahas play their final home game Friday when the Waterloo (Ill.) Buds visit Capaha Field for a 7:30 p.m. start.
