DONIPHAN — Veteran Doniphan Dons boys basketball coach Daniel Cagle is stepping down to spend more time with his family, Doniphan High School athletic director Adam Epps announced Monday morning.
“Coach Cagle did a great job in his tenure leading the Dons,” Epps said. “He is well respected by his coaching peers and will be sorely missed on the sidelines.”
Cagle compiled a record of 81-54 over five seasons leading the Dons, including an Ozark Foothills Conference Tournament championship in 2021 and a runner-up finish at the Bloomfield Christmas Tournament this season. Cagle’s teams won between 16 and 18 games in four of his five seasons, including a 17-10 mark this season.
The school currently is seeking Cagle’s successor, Epps said.
