Notre Dame won both its boys soccer games Saturday in the Marshall County Classic in Benton, Ky.

Notre Dame (5-2) defeated Marshall County -- ranked No. 3 in Kentucky -- 1-0 in the first game. The goal came from Jonathan Market in the opening minutes of the second half. He was assisted by Blake Urhahn. Brendan McMeel recorded the shutout.

Urhahn had two goals and an assist in the Bulldogs' 6-1 win over Daviess County, Ky.

Wade Cramer scored the first goal of the game in the sixth minute and was assisted by Jason Delgado. Delgado had two goals and Market had one.

CROSS COUNTRY

Kelly Invitational

Notre Dame placed first in three of the four races of the Kelly Invitational, defeating Poplar Bluff overall for the first time in the progam's history.

The difference between first and second in the boys varsity race was half a second.

Sam Montgomery (third), Austin Critchlow (fifth), Ryan Roggow (sixth), Greg Kanneberg (12th) and Matt Pfau (13th) each medaled for Notre Dame in the boys varsity race.

Casey Crawford won the girls varsity race with a time of 22 minutes 27 and a half seconds.

Notre Dame also won the junior varsity boys race. C.J. Harper and Codey Essner placed first and second, respectively.

Northwest Invitational

Central's boys finished first with their top five runners medaling at the Northwest Invitational at House Springs.

John Kipper finished third. Corey Huskey finished eighth.

Central's girls finished third behind Jennifer Pancoast's third-place finish. Linnea Woldvedt was eighth and Holly Shaffer finished ninth. Eureka won the girls meet.

McCluer North Invitational

Jackson's girls placed 11th in the McCluer North Invitational near St. Louis.

Rachel Schmidt led Jackson with a 35th-place finish. Ashley Miller won the freshman division.

Jackson's varsity boys team did not compete due to illness.

GIRLS TENNIS

Central 6, Lindbergh 3

Central completed the first half of a double dual at home and defeated Lindbergh 6-3 before rain came Saturday.

Liz LaFoe, Erika Foley, Dani Gross and Merritt Gerlach each won their singles matches.

Foley-Brett Ford and LaFoe-Gross won doubles matches.

Central (4-1) began play with Oakville but did not finish.

Jackson 5, Oakville 4

Jackson got singles wins from its No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 players and from its No. 1 doubles to get a win at the Central quad.

Kelly Mitchell, Megan Beil, Shannon Cobb and Chelsea Walker all won singles matches. Mitchell and Sarah Hinkebein won the deciding doubles match for Jackson (2-5).

FOOTBALL

Ste. Genevieve 30, Perryville 13

Perryville looked like it might pull off an upset in the first half Friday, but that's when Ste. Genevieve's ground attack came to life in the second half.

The Dragons trailed Perryville 7-0 at halftime.

Pirates quarterback Corey Buerck was 16-of-19 for 75 yards. Buerck threw two touchdowns and two interceptions. Andrew Yamnitz caught a 45-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to give Perryville the early lead.

Adam Schwent had a big game for the Dragons. After rushing for 285 yards in Ste. Genevieve's opener, Schwent went for 257 against the Pirates. The Dragons ended the game with 345 yards of total offense.

Matt Unterreiner was Perryville's leading rusher with 80 yards on 11 carries. Perryville finished with 139 yards on offense.
