BRIEFLY: TWO NAMED TO DIVISION II TRACK HALL OF FAME

Former Southeast Missouri State University standouts Mike and Chris (Ridenour) Vanatta will be inducted into the NCAA Division II Track & Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

The induction will come tonight during a banquet at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan., site of the 1999 NCAA Division II Championships.

The Vanattas, who were engaged to be married at the time, won the 1984 NCAA Division II individual titles in cross country.

Mike Vanatta is also the NCAA Division II record holder in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:37.7 in 1983. He won the steeplechase three consecutive years from 1982-84.

The Vanattas live in Colorado.
