Erika Todd scored an unassisted goal in the first overtime period -- her third goal of the game -- to lead Southeast Missouri State University's women's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Western Illinois Sunday at Houck Stadium.
The Otahkians improved their record to 4-1-1 as they have already matched their victory total for all of last year's inaugural season.
Todd scored two first-half goals as the Otahkians grabbed a 2-0 lead. But Western Illinois (1-6) tied things later in the first half on goals by Lynn Peterson and Jenny Beckman. That's the way things stood through the rest of regulation as there was no scoring in the second half.
Southeast will return to action Friday night, hosting Southwest Missouri State.
