Three female distance runners who will run both cross country and track -- including a Jackson High School product -- have signed national letters of intent to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Southeast coach Joey Haines has announced that Jennifer Brown of Jackson, Anna Versman of St. Charles West and Christy Williams of West Plains have signed with Southeast.

Brown was all-state in cross country last fall. She has also been a starter on the Jackson soccer team but will concentrate on running at Southeast.

Versman was the 1998 runner-up in the Missouri Class 4A cross country championships. She placed third in the 4A 1,600-meters in track.

Williams was all-state in cross country and was the 4A track runner-up in the 800 and 1,600. She was also a starter on the West Plains basketball team that won the 1997-98 4A state title.
