Southeast Missouri, which swept the University of Tennessee-Martin over the weekend, also had a virtual sweep of the OVC weekly honors.
Charlie Marino, who had four home runs and 12 RBIs in the three-game sweep, was named the OVC player of the week, while teammate Tommy Thomas shared OVC pitcher of the week honors with Middle Tennessee's Dewon Brazelton.
Marino, a senior, went 10-for-14 (.714) over the weekend, had three doubles, scored nine runs and stole two bases. He had at least three hits, including a home run, in all three games.
Thomas, a junior righthander, had a dominating performance against UTM, coming within two outs of a no-hitter. Thomas (4-1) allowed one hit and struck out 12 over 8 1/3 innings. Brazelton pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout against Morehead State on Saturday.
Southeast (23-10) will return to action today when Arkansas State (17-20) visits Capaha Field for a 3 p.m. contest.
