Loren Groves of Chaffee fared extremely well during the AAU National Junior Olympics held this past week in Orlando, Fla.

The 14-year-old was fourth in the discus, fifth in the pentathlon, seventh in the 100 hurdles and seventh in the 200 hurdles.

Groves, who will be entering her freshman year at Chaffee High School, had qualified for the National Junior Olympics by starring during the AAU regional meet held in Kansas. During that competition, she finished first in the pentathlon, discus and 100 hurdles while placing second in the triple jump and 200 hurdles.

Also, Kelly High School's Adam Daughhetee finished 13th in the 1,500-meter run during the AAU National Junior Olympics in Florida.
