BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- Missouri State American Legion baseball champion Dunklin County is just one victory away from a berth in the American Legion World Series.
Dunklin County slipped past the Louisiana state champion 7-6 Sunday night in the semifinals of the Mid-South Regional Tournament.
Dunklin County will take on the Texas state champion -- Texas City -- at 7 tonight for the title in the eight-team regional. The winner moves on to the American Legion World Series.
Late Saturday night, Dunklin County knocked off host Bartlesville, Okla., 18-13 to finish second in its pool and move into Sunday's semifinal round.
Also, Kentucky state champion Paducah is now just one win away from a berth in the Legion World Series. Paducah won its semifinal contest Sunday in the Great Lakes Regional in Fairview Heights, Ill.
The American Legion World Series will be played in Alton, Ill.
