Week Report: Smith, a senior center, scored 13 points against Oran in the Lady Rams' 50-22 win on Thursday, 13 points against Portageville in a 54-20 romp, and 25 points in a 60-43 victory over Woodland on Saturday.
Season Report: Smith is averaging 14.2 points per game, but has caught fire of late. In her last six games -- including a 27-point outing against Puxico -- Smith has averaged 19.2 points per contest. Smith is also the team's leading rebounder with about eight boards per game. The Lady Rams were 15-8 overall and had won six straight games entering Wednesday night's game against St. Vincent.
Coach's Comments: "She's a hard worker," said assistant coach Amy McDonald. "She never gives up on anything. She's putting in extra time and it's starting to pay off and her shots are starting to fall. I think a lot of her success is our success as a team right now and we're looking to get her the ball more now. We've made some changes in the offense to get her the ball more. I've really enjoyed working with her. She always puts in her best effort.
