This season: Bollinger led the Indians with a .458 average and set a new school record with 30 runs batted in. She had five doubles among her 33 hits, a .488 on base average, a .556 slugging average and a .522 average with runners in scoring position. A sophomore catcher, Bollinger led the Indians with a .987 fielding average, had 128 putouts, 28 assists and threw out 10-of-19 potential basestealers. Jackson went 22-7 this year and advanced to its first-ever state quarterfinal.
Week report: Bollinger was 7-for-11 with four RBIs in Class 4A playoff action, including a 1-for-3 performance in Jackson's sectional victory over Hillsboro Thursday and a 3-for-3 game (she had three of Jackson's four hits) in a 1-0 loss to Summit Saturday.
Coach's comments: "She's been around the game all her life. She knows the strategies to use against hitters -- she's really come a long way in calling her own game -- and she's a very good contact hitter."
