Howard, Glasscock capture senior title
The team of Dave Howard and George Glasscock scored a 59 to win the championship flight of the senior two-man scramble at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.
The team of Clinton Ruppel and Robert Hedden was second with a 63, while Ray Wilhelm and Harold Schott shot a 64.
In A flight, the team of Jim Stovall and Jonny Underwood took first with a 67, followed by the team of Norris Johnson and Pat Gorham with a 69 and the team of Jim Ainsworth and Dave Heisel, also with a 69.
In B flight, it was the team of Lloyd Paulk and Loy Cooper taking the title with a 71. John Britton and Larry Britton were second with a 71, while Floyd Stroder and Dan Stroder were third with a 72.
In C flight, the team of Larry Laven and Jerry Henley took home the championship with a 79. The team of Charlie Seabaugh and Orville Warner took second with a 79, while the team of Dean Renz and Harold Johns was third with an 80.
Sample fishes way to championship
Cape Girardeau's Lindsay Sample teamed with Chris Tramm of Lebanon, Ind., to win the 2008 Cabela's King Kat Classic fishing tournament in Henderson, Ky.
Sample and Tramm finished with a two-day total of 155.7 pounds. Their total after the first day was 87.05 pounds.
Kerber-Rehr, Herren win half marathon
Chris Herren was the overall male winner at the City of Roses half marathon.
He crossed the line in 1 hour, 11 minutes, 49 seconds.
Debbie Kerber-Rehe was the overall female finisher, crossing the line in 1:32:21.
In the 5K, Seth Turner was the top male finisher (17:24), while Brigitte Kinnamon was the top female finisher (23:39).

Kathy Morris and Christy Boulton took second, while Dana Underwood and Vicki Long were third.
In B flight, the team of Janet White and Sarah Cochrane finished first, followed by the team of Lisa Bjelich and Mary Jane Eftink and the team of Brenda VandenBrook and Ann Dombrowski.
Judi Brey enjoyed a successful outing when she carded a hole in one on hole No. 11.
Brey used a 9-iron for the shot.
