Scheer to return to California Cougars

Cape Girardeau native Craig Scheer, a 1994 graduate of Central High School, will play his third season with the California Cougars of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Scheer finished the 2006 season with eight goals and six assists in 20 games.

"Scheer is a steady player that plays multiple positions for us," Cougars coach Bernie Lilavois said in a statement. "Last season was an injury-plagued season and because of that his season was full of ups and downs. He's another veteran that I will need to provide leadership on and off the field."
