CAIRO, Ill. -- The superintendent of the Cairo School District and the school board president both resigned Thursday.
Superintendent Gary Whitledge resigned, effective June 30. Board president Joe Griggs resigned near the end of Thursday night's board meeting.
According to information on the Cairo Association of Teachers Web site, several board members raised questions about school district finances during the meeting.
