Gov. Matt Blunt will sign a spending bill for Missouri's public schools at a ceremony at Cape Girardeau Central High School this morning.
Blunt is scheduled to visit the high school at 11 a.m.
The bill includes a 5.5 percent increase in state funding for elementary and secondary schools. In the 27th state Senate district of Southeast Missouri, school districts will receive a total of $72.5 million, state Sen. Jason Crowell said.
