SIKESTON - In order to promote the community to prospective residents, businesses and visitors, the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to publish an annual magazine.

Titled "IMAGES of Sikeston," the four-color magazine will showcase the people, natural beauty and progressive business climate of the area.

It will feature original photography and professionally written stories about what makes the community special.

"This is a great way to tell our story. It allows us to communicate in an appealing format, to any individual or business, who we are as a community," said Missy Marshall, executive director.

Chamber of Commerce members can promote their businesses and support the Chamber by buying advertising space. Scheduled to debut in March 2002, the annual magazine will be distributed to 5,000 prospective businesses and residents. The magazine will also be made available to current residents.

The Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Journal Communications, a custom publisher that has won numerous national awards and produces community and specialty magazines in 19 states.

"We're thrilled to be working with the Chamber on this publication," said John Borkowski, advertising project manager for Journal Communications.

"We have a great track record of spotlighting the strengths of the community in this format, and there are so many wonderful things to tell the world about Sikeston."
