New businesses are sprouting in Cape Girardeau, including The Pickleball Factory and Coffee & Computers. Plus, expansions and ownership changes are underway.

A few businesses are undergoing ownership changes, selling equipment, opening up or expanding to the city according to business licenses submitted to the City of Cape Girardeau Community Development Department.

One new business coming to the city is The Pickleball Factory LLC, owned by Shannon Davis of Cape Girardeau and Michael Williams of Clayton. These pickleball courts will be located at 1507 Independence St.

Coffee & Computers, owned by Larry Atchley of Cape Girardeau, will set up shop at 46 N. Main St. It provides coffee and information technology repair and consulting. Atchley also aims to start coffee roasting seminars and sessions for board games and tabletop roleplaying games.

Carlos Diaz of Jackson expanded his 1st Choice Roofing and Contracting LLC business into Cape Girardeau. He also operates in Advance, Chaffee, Jackson, Perryville, Scott City and Sikeston.

Chesterfield residents Benjamin and Stacie Brasseur have acquired 75% of Johnstone Supply at 2043 Rust Ave. from owner Bruce Eckenberg of Paducah Supply Company Inc. The company supplies heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. The Brasseurs also operate Johnstone Supply stores in Columbia, Earth City, Fenton and St. Peters.

Cape Girardeau Surgical Clinic, located at 60 Doctors Park, will sell retail medical supply under its Cape Girardeau Surgical Supply, Inc. business. It will sell mastectomy- and lymphedema-related medical equipment such as breast forms, bras and compression garments.
