Paul Hawkins is new manager at the Sears Roebuck and Co. store at Town Plaza Shopping Center, 2102 William, in Cape Girardeau.

Hawkins, who has been with Sears 20 years, has been auto service manager at the St. Ann store in the St. Louis area.

Graeme Wilson, who has been manager here two years, will become manager at the St. Ann Sears store.

Gayle Hendrix of Cape Girardeau has joined ComAir Delta Connection as manager of inflight services for the companies, headquartered at Cincinnati, Ohio.

Hendrix has been a member of the professional staff at Southeast Missouri State University for six years. Prior to that, she was manager for TCI Cable TV in Cape Girardeau and Jackson.

ComAir, the principal operating subsidiary of ComAir Holdings Inc., serves business travelers. The company covers 68 locations in 23 states and three countries, and hopes to expand services to 36 new cities this year.

Connie Copsy, travel consultant for AAA Travel Agency at 1903 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, has earned the professional designation of Certified Travel Counselor from the Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA).

Copsy of Cape Girardeau completed more than 200 hours of course work, four examinations and prepared a professional paper to earn the designation. She also had to acquired at least five years' travel industry experience before earning the CTA designation. She has been with AAA Travel for seven years.

ICTA, headquartered at Wellesley, Mass., offers educational programs for travel agents in all states in sales, destination and management training.

R. J. McKinney, president of the Jim Wilson Company, has been appointed vice chairman of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

McKinney replaces Wayne Smith, who is moving from the Cape Girardeau area.

McKinney's appointment was announced recently by Ollie Miller, chairman of the board. McKinney was elected to the board in 1992.

Miller also appointed Keith A. Russell, associate professor in the accounting and finance department at Southeast Missouri State University, to fill Smith's vacancy on the board.

Russell has been on the chamber's University Relations Committee five years, including a two- year stint as vice chairman two years and as chairman in 1993. He also was co-chairman of the Chamber Business Conference in 1991, 1992 and 1993.

Dr. Paul A. Spence of Cape Girardeau has completed continuing medical education requirements to retain active membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the national association for family doctors.

AAFP members are required to complete a minimum of 150 hours of accredited continuing medical study every three years. Spence has been an active AAFP member since 1975.

Alan L. Schlichting of Cape GMC Pontiac, 755 S. Kingshighway, has been named to the Pontiac Master Sales Guild for 1993.

The guild honors Pontiac sales people and sales managers for outstanding performances in the areas of sales, product knowledge and customer satisfaction.

Schlichting of Perryville joined Cape GMC Pontiac in October of 1992 as a sales consultant.

Dennis Whichern and Butch Koppel of Macke Farm Supply in Gordonville, recently attended a sales and service seminar on grain handling and drying equipment.

The seminar was sponsored by David Manufacturing Co., headquartered at Mason City, Iowa. The company manufactures products for on-farm drying and storage of grain.

Lance Keller and William Lix of Ken's Cape Cleaners, 1705 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, have earned the title, "Certified Environmental Drycleaners (CED)."

The two successfully passed an examination, including a three-hour written test, pertaining to the environmentally safe operation of dry cleaning establishments.

The CED designation is issued by International Fabricare Institute, a trade association based in Silver Spring, Md.

Ron Lungwitz and Tom Higgins of Cape Girardeau, insurance executives for the Franklin Life Insurance Co. of Springfield, Ill., have been named to membership on the 1994 Franklin Million Dollar Conference, the company elite organization of national sales and sales management leaders.

The accomplishments of Lungwitz, a general agent, and Higgins, special representative, will be recognized during the company's Million Dollar Conference to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii.

Rick Ebaugh, an investment broker with the Cape Girardeau office of A. G. Edwards & Sons investment firm, recently completed a two-day investment seminar at the firm's headquarters in St. Louis.

Global investing and outlook on the market were among topics discussed by five leading mutual fund and variable annuity companies -- Franklin/Templeton, GT Global, Goldman Sachs, MFS and Putnam.

Dennis Seabaugh of Jackson was honored recently by United Parcel Services for his 20 years with the company.

Seabaugh is a delivery driver with UPS in the Cape Girardeau area.

Brenda Shadowens, kitchen and bath specialist at Wolohan Lumber & Home Improvement Center at 120 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau, recently attended the National Kitchen and Bath Show held in Chicago. The show was held in McCormick Hall.
