Daryl Wagoner, a Cape Girardeau native, has been promoted to the position of vice president and manager of marketing-communications at United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County in Fort Worth, Texas.

Wagoner, in his new position, will oversee the organization's public and media relations, market research, special events planning, electronic publishing, audiovisual production and in-house print shop.

He joined the Tarrant County United Way staff in 1990. The volunteers and 75-member staff of the Tarrant County United Way raised more than $21 million annually.

Wagoner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Graham Wagoner of Cape Girardeau.

John Pagano of St. Louis, a Southeast Missouri State University graduate, has been named manager of the new Walgreens Co. store at the intersection of Kingshighway and Independence.

The new store will open Nov. 30, with a grand opening planned for Jan. 7.

Pagano joined Walgreens in May 1990, and most recently served as manager of a St. Louis Walgreens store.

Laura Poole and Mary Scholl of Elite Travel Inc., 354 S. Silver Springs Road, recently attended the Club America 1995 product launch and training seminar held in Cancun, Mexico.

While in Cancun, they visited the ancient ruins of Tulum as well as site inspections of local hotels and other tourist sites.

Dr. James T. Main Jr., a Cape Girardeau podiatrist, is in a new location.

Main, previously at 1 N. Spanish, has moved to 1854 Broadway.

Janet Dalton has joined Prudential Bridgeport Realtors Inc.

Dalton, a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club, has more than eight years experience in real estate, selling residential and farm properties.

Dr. Robert Kessinger, a specific chiropractor, attended a worldwide Kale Upper Cervical Specific Conference last weekend at Spartanburg, S.C.

Kessinger, who has a clinic in Cape Girardeau, is a Kale Certified Instructor and a member of the Kale network.

Glendella May, Patricia Schreiner, Mary Tripp, Cheryl Amos, Jackie Givens, Barbara Crites, Peggy Rellergert and Michelle Burley recently attended a court session to observe their annual "Day in Court."

Judge John W. Grimm was guest speaker during the October meeting of Legal Secretaries. He discussed the importance of filing the correct number of copies of documents with the court, and proofreading documents for errors.

Ken Jones of the Social Security Administration was guest speaker at the recent November meeting of Legal Secretaries. He discussed what women should know about Social Security.

Ann Swanson, manager of Gulliver's Travel Agency Inc. recently attended an educational tour to Chile, sponsored by South American Fiesta Tours.

Swanson visited the capital city of Santiago, beach resort of Vina Del Mar and the seaport of Valparaiso. She also visited the lake district, Puerto Monti, Chiloe Island.

Swanson visited Turkey earlier this year.

Jim R. Bryant, a Chaffee native, has been named president of claims services for Crawford & Co., a diversified service company at Atlanta.

Bryant joined Crawford as a claims adjuster in 1974 and most recently served as national sales manager of the company's claims services unit.

Bryant is a graduate of Chaffee High School and Southeast Missouri State University.

Crawford is a diversified service company that provides claims services, risk management services, health care management and risk control services, as well as risk management systems to insurance companies, corporations and self-insured entities.

Sally Thurlkill, Southeast Missouri Hospital tumor registrar, was recently installed as vice president of the Missouri State Tumor Registrars Association.

Thurlkill, who has been at Southeast Missouri Hospital since 1984, completed requirements of National Tumor Registrars Association certification in 1986. In addition to her work with Southeast's tumor registry, she serves as a tumor registrar and data manager with the St. Louis-Cape Girardeau Community Clinical Oncology Program.

She is a member of the National Cancer Registrars Association and Missouri Tumor Registrars Association.

Southeast's tumor registry is a cancer data system that provides continued follow-up of all cancer patients treated at the Regional Cancer Center.
