Marion Flori of Cape Girardeau joined the sales staff of Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Inc., 338 Christine.
Flori, who was at Sanders Hardware, is a native of Cape Girardeau. He begins at Orscheln today.
Orscheln carries farm, home and auto supplies and clothing. It has been in business for 30 years.
Dr. Robert Kessigner, a specific chiropractor in Cape Girardeau, was guest speaker at the Kale Upper Cervical Specific Conference this month in Spartanburg, S.C.
Doctors of chiropractic from across the United States and Canada attended the conference, which detailed the work of Dr. B.J. Palmer, known as the "Father of Chiropractic."
Kessinger has a clinic at 1424 Kurre Lane.
Betty Sargent and Marti Suedmeyer of Southeast Missouri State University attended the Professional Secretaries International Conference last month in Orlando, Fla. They served as delegate and alternate for the Girardot chapter of professional secretaries.
They voted on new international officers and amendments to the organizations bylaws and attended professional development meetings.
Ken Myles of Ken Myles Insurance Agency in Cape Girardeau attended the third annual Convention of the Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Missouri last month at Marriott's Tan-Tar-A Resort on Lake of the Ozarks. More than 900 people attended.
The convention featured educational sessions on health-care reform, pollution liability coverage and aspects of agency operation, in addition to a trade show featuring 75 exhibits.
Dr. Douglas H. Redgier has joined the orthodontist office of Dr. David P. Crowe. The two are equal partners in the practice that includes offices in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Dexter and Advance.
Redgier is a native of Cape Girardeau. He completed his orthodontist schooling at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Aug. 5.
They plan to eventually run two offices at the same time.
Dr. Theodore J. Glenn, a psychiatrist, will address tonight's meeting of Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders of Southeast Missouri. The meeting will begin at 7 in the Harrison room of Southeast Missouri Hospital. Glenn is a board-certified child psychiatrist. He has been in private practice at Family Mental Health in Cape Girardeau since 1979.
Wilma J. Dooley of Jackson received the Circle of Achievement Award at the annual Mary Kay Cosmetics Seminar last month in Dallas. Dooley received recognition for unit retail production of $300,000 for the contest year.
Kim G. Swartz has been appointed executive director of the Community Counseling Center Foundation. She also serves as marketing specialist for the center.
Swartz is responsible for assisting the board in formulating and carrying out fund-raising and community awareness. She also supervises marketing and public relations efforts.
The Community Counseling Center provides mental-health services and special programs to residents of Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Madison, Perry and Ste. Genevieve counties.
Paul Sander of Jackson has joined Heartland Realty Co., 2142 E. Highway 61 in Jackson, as a sales associate. Sander is Jackson mayor.
Laura Poole, a travel consultant with Elite Travel Inc., 354 Silver Springs Road, recently traveled to Jamaica. She was a guest at the Plantation Inn, a luxury hotel in Ochs Rios, Jamaica. She toured several resorts featuring daily activities such as snorkeling, sunfish sailing and riding in glass-bottom boats.
